Opera51 presents concert performances of Puccini’s dramatic masterpiece Turandot, conducted by Alan Yost. This is one of Puccini’s finest efforts, and was his final opera. In addition to the wildly popular Nessun dorma, there are other arias of transporting beauty as well as richly textured orchestral and choral passages. Leads are Margretta Beaty (Princess Turandot), Ethan Bremner (Calaf), Alyssa Mae Doggett (Liu), Timur (Thaddeus Bell), James C. S. Liu (Ping), Stephen Chrzan (Pang), Len Giambrone (Pong), Chris Loschen (the Emperor), and Carlo Bunyl ( a Mandarin). All tickets $30, buy online. Open rehearsal on Thursday, June 9 is open to the public. Pay $20 cash at the door. Proof of vaccination is required for entry and masks must be worn throughout the performance.
