This coming-of-age comedy focuses on Eugene Morris Jerome, a teenager obsessed with baseball, girls, and writing (definitely not in that order) while living with his mother, father, and older brother in 1937 Brooklyn. Eugene’s widowed aunt and her two daughters have come to live with the Jeromes, stretching their family resources and testing their relationships. With fear and violence mounting in Europe, their family dynamics are about to change even more dramatically.
