This is a class that allows you to experience two distinct techniques and media. Each class will begin with an explanation and demonstration. The first 3 weeks we’ll focus on painting in the negative. Building under layers and seeing how patterns and movement emerge. We’ll ultimately paint landscapes and flowers seeing how they are revealed through this technique. The second 3 weeks will start by creating collage papers through mono-printing, doodling, using rubbing alcohol, inks and mark making. Then we’ll combine your fabulous papers with paint and create wondrous works of art on canvas. For Gretchen, making art is joyful and she wants her students to enjoy the process of letting go and embracing the creativity that art reveals. She can’t wait to have you join her in the studio.
