Concord Conservatory presents Music & Water

Concord Conservatory of Music will partner with OARS and The Sudbury, Assabet and Concord Wild & Scenic River Stewardship Council to present Music & Water, an evening of appreciation for the beauty of our local rivers and watersheds along with a chamber music concert performed by the talented Concord Conservatory of Music faculty, including Nicole Parks on violin, Susan Gottschalk on viola, Stephen Marotto on cello, and Yoko Hagino on piano.
OARS is a non-profit organization whose mission is to protect, improve and preserve the Assabet, Sudbury, and Concord Rivers, their tributaries and watersheds, for public recreation, water supply, and wildlife habitat.
Guest speaker Alison Field-Juma, Executive Director of OARS will guide us through topics about our local rivers alongside a chamber music program performed by Concord Conservatory’s faculty artists, featuring works evocative of and inspired by water

Guest speaker Alison Field-Juma, Executive Director of OARSAlison Field-Juma
Alison joined OARS as Policy Director in June 2005 and became Executive Director in 2010. She’s also the Vice-Chair of the Sudbury, Assabet and Concord Wild & Scenic River Stewardship Council, serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Steering Committee of the 495/MetroWest Partnership and is Environmental Co-Chair of their Water Resources Committee.
Alison is also the Chair of the Aquatic Invasives Management Subcommittee of the SuAsCo Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area (CISMA) and past CISMA chair and represents OARS on other state and regional advisory boards, in addition to serving on the Muddy Water Initiative Advisory Board in Boston.
Prior to joining OARS, Alison was Director of the Environmental Governance Programme of the African Centre for Technology Studies in Nairobi, Kenya. She holds an MSc in Natural Resource Policy and Planning from Cornell University, a BSc in Biology from Tufts University, and is Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness certified.
