Teacher and historian John Gardella examines the many lesser known colonies of New England. Most of us are familiar with Jamestown, Plymouth Plantation and the Massachusetts Bay Colony but there are forgotten colonies that were established for religious reasons while others were founded as commercial enterprises. Special attention will be given to the individuals and joint stock companies that received the charters, grants or patents from the kings of England. The success, failure and outcome for these long forgotten enterprises will be covered and a group discussion will follow the lecture. Please call the COA to reserve your spot: 978-318-3020 and receive the ZOOM link/invitation for this lecture.
