The Concord Orchestra presents “Far, Far Away”

The orchestra, conducted by Music Director Zeke Fetrow, performs a program of W. A. Mozart’s Overture to Don Giovanni, Alexander Borodin’s In the Steppes of Central Asia, and John Williams’ Star Wars Suite. The winner of the young artist competition, Maggie Bai, joins the orchestra to perform Felix Mendelssohn’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in G minor.

Maggie Bai, 14, is a rising freshman in the Nobles and Greenough high school. She started taking piano lessons at the age of four and is a pianist of extraordinary promise. She currently studies with Angel Ramon Rivera and Kanako Nishikawa. Maggie is enrolled at the New England Conservatory (NEC) and is a selected member of the Chamber Music Intensive Performance Seminar (CHIPS). She studies chamber music with Laura Blustein, Sammy Andonian, and Peter Zazofsky.

Journey to a galaxy far, far away, as the orchestra performs John Williams’ Star Wars Suite. Enjoy familiar themes from renowned composer John Williams’ Star Wars movies.

One of the young artist competition runners-up, cellist Gabriel Jojatu performs a recital at 7:15 p.m.
