Growing Culinary Herbs

May 22, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

- $25

Need a nature moment? Join us in experiencing the tranquility and spirit of nature. Get creative and curious while engaging the senses as we connect to & through nature. Enjoy a warm beverage (provided) while soaking in the restorative strength nature brings.

This is a hands-on program that focuses on the journey, not the destination. Our goal is for you to walk away feeling relaxed and restored – and ready to jump into spring!

Are you interested in growing an herb garden this spring to fuel all your culinary adventures but aren’t sure where to begin? Here’s your opportunity to sign up for a one-hour workshop to get started. This workshop offers an introduction, tips, and growing information for herbs like mint, lavender, basil, thyme, sage, and parsley. We’ll also cover how to use these lovely herbs in the kitchen. From tea and dips to baked goods, these ideas are sure to inspire some fabulous recipes this year. Cooking with homegrown herbs can be a very rewarding process and we’re excited to see where it takes you!

– Programs take place entirely indoors and are accessible to people of all abilities. Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult participant.

– Please let us know if there are any reasonable accommodations that we can provide in order to help you enjoy your nature moment with us.

– The Nature Connection is proud to participate in the Card to Culture program, a collaboration between the Mass Cultural Council and the Department of Transitional Assistance, the Women, Infants & Children (WIC) Nutrition Program, and the Massachusetts Health Connector, by broadening accessibility to cultural programming. Just send us an email (cardtoculture@nature-connection.org) if this is the case for you and we will send you back a promo code – for C2C, this workshop is $3.

The Nature Connection is located inside The Umbrella Arts Center, Studio #112 on the first floor. Use the main entrance, take a right, and we’re right at the end of the hall – see you soon! The Umbrella is ADA accessible with free public & street parking. We are also a convenient 10-minute walk over smooth ground from the commuter rail Fitchburg Line’s, Concord stop.
