Nature journaling in the wonders of fall! Enjoy the splendor of autumn at the Old Manse! Be guided to express what you see in words and sketches! Stroll through the orchard as the apples ripen, observe the bountiful grape vines and tall oaks, sit by the historic river, adorned in autumn hues. Be inspired by the same views as Thoreau and Hawthorne to begin or deepen a process of close nature observation, inquiry and expression. This is a great time and place to start a nature journal or to get inspiration to continue on your journey!
In this 2-hour workshop, led by naturalist Seal LaMadeleine, you will be guided to wake up your senses, increase observation skills, learn fun and simple sketching techniques, express your experience in writing, and have time to explore the landscape for your own inspirations!
Naturalist Seal LaMadeleine, founder and director of Deer Paths Nature School, brings a background in creative writing and journalism as well as 15 years experience as an environmental education teacher at Deer Paths, the Hitchcock Center for the Environment, and other local agencies.
