Join this three-part series on understanding and interacting with Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) practices in education for parents, educators, civic leaders, and anyone interested in learning what DEI is and how it can be practiced inclusively and constructively.
Session 1 – No One is Anti-DEI – February 26, 2026 | 6:30-8 pm
Let’s start by clarifying what DEI is, what it is not, how all of us do DEI all day every day, and how this corrective understanding might factor into your own bearing on DEI. A reflection-follow-up discussion will be offered on March 5, 6-7 pm via Zoom
Session 2 – Inclusivity Cannot be Inclusive of Exclusivity – March 11, 2026 | 6:30-8 pm
Let’s stare down the challenge of “Parents’ Rights” controversies and resolve it. A reflection-follow-up discussion will be offered on March 17, 6-7 pm via Zoom
Session 3 – Praxis Praxis Praxis – March 25, 2026 | 6:30-8 pm
Let’s consider and share our individual concrete plans for articulating and acting on where we’ve landed on the issue of DEI in education – with our friends, family, and communities. A reflection-follow-up discussion will be offered on April 1, 6-7 pm via Zoom
All sessions will be in person at the high school. All sessions will be recorded and made available for viewing.
The frameworks, touchstones and tools offered in the program will be drawn from the facilitators recent book, Diversity Without Divisiveness: A Guide to DEI Practice for K-12 Educators (DWD).
The following 20% discount codes are offered from the publisher (Routledge.com): 26AFLY1, valid from Jan. 1-June 30, 2026 and 26AFLY3, valid from July 1-Dec. 31, 2026.
Familiarity with the DWD content and any of the facilitators relevant work here and here will result in the fullest possible gain from the program.
Participants are strongly encouraged to read No One is Anti-DEI ahead of the first meeting.
Speaker: Dr. Carlos Hoyt
