Book Discussion at Debra’s Natural Gourmet, 98 Commonwealth Ave.

May 21, 2018 @ 7:00 pm

The Concord Free Public Library is teaming up again with Debra’s Natural Gourmet for a discussion of Mrs. Dalloway, by Virginia Woolf. The book discussion will take place on Monday, May 21st at 7:00 p.m. at Debra’s Natural Gourmet, 98 Commonwealth Avenue, in West Concord.

In Mrs. Dalloway (1925), the novel on which the movie The Hours was based, Virginia Woolf details Clarissa Dalloway’s preparations for a party of which she is to be hostess, exploring the hidden springs of thought and action in one day of a woman’s life. The novel “contains some of the most beautiful, complex, incisive and idiosyncratic sentences ever written in English, and that alone would be reason enough to read it. It is one of the most moving, revolutionary artworks of the twentieth century” (Michael Cunningham).

Copies of the selected book will be available at both the Main (129 Main St.) and Fowler (1322 Main St.) libraries to check out. Open to all. Please Register due to limited space.
