This introductory course is for both sail and power boaters and includes instruction on safety afloat, legal responsibilities, aids to navigation, rules of the road, charts and compass, engines, knots, weather, boat handling, radio procedures, and navigation electronics. Completion certificate helps reduce boat insurance fees. Families are welcome. Children age 12 and older are encouraged to attend with a parent at a reduced rate.

Course materials are $30-$45, payable in class.

Tuition: $50; $90/couple; $25 additional for child registering with a parent
