The Nature Connection’s annual fundraiser, Inspire will be held on Thursday, October 22nd at 5:30 at Sanctuary Cultural Arts Center in Maynard, MA. The evening will bring together nature, animals, music and food while raising support for The Nature Connection’s programs, which provide accessible, person-centered nature experiences for people who have limited or no access to the natural world.
Since 1983, The Nature Connection has brought hands-on experiences with nature directly into communities where they are needed most, including memory care communities, group homes, therapeutic schools and adult day programs. Their programs serve older adults experiencing isolation, adults with disabilities, youth navigating trauma or transition, and others who benefit from supportive, sensory-rich experiences designed around their individual ways of engaging and connecting.
Inspire will feature a special owl encounter presented by Eyes on Owls, along with other nature and animal experiences, live music, dinner, drinks and a silent auction. Dinner will be provided by Saba Wahid Duffy, owner of Somerville restaurant Kush, an award-winning chef, Food Network champion and advocate for sustainable cooking.
The Nature Connection believes meaningful engagement with nature should be accessible and responsive to each person’s needs. Through direct experiences with animals and the natural world, participants are invited into moments of wonder, calm and connection that can foster curiosity, creativity, humor and resilience.
