- Free

Dr. Sharon Ryan, PreK-2 Literacy & Social Studies Curriculum Coordinator for Acton-Boxboro Schools, will discuss activities that families can enjoy together to nurture young children’s literacy development in preparation for transitioning to kindergarten and why it’s important to work on these skills at home. This is an in-person presentation taking place at 179 Great Rd., Acton, and each parent will take home a packet that incudes a rhyming book, scissors, and other fine-motor activity supplies geared toward children age 3-5 with adult assistance to get them started. First Connections provides free playgroups, parent seminars, support groups and resources to all families in Carlisle and Concord. To register for this program email lmatthews@jri.org.
