Lara JK Wilson, MA, GCMS – A meditator for over thirty years, Lara’s experiential work explores how mindful wellness practices and the creative process benefit well-being. Her award-winning short fiction has been anthologized and published in literary journals such as the Kenyon Review, American Fiction, StoryQuarterly, and Printers Row, among many others. A Grub Street former board member and instructor, Lara earned a master’s degree in English & American literature as well as a Graduate Certificate in Mindfulness Studies. She has developed mindfulness curricula in northern and southern schools, led mindful wellness retreats, and co-created personalized practices with hundreds of teens and adults. The positive impact of these practices during her eighteen months of cancer treatment prompted Lara to establish Be Well Be Here, a non-profit mindful wellness collaborative in Concord, MA (learn more at BeWellBeHere.org). Lara serves on the boards of A Brighter Way and the Friends of the Concord Free Public Library, and in 2019 was appointed curator of the Concord Festival of Authors.
