In the Digital Storytelling activity as a part of Girls’ Time to Shine, students explore what it means to be a tech-savvy director, creator, set artist, and storyteller as they navigate artistic mediums and hands-on applications to bring their visions to life. Students will learn how to create a short animation through organizing their ideas on a storyboard, be presented with different “subjects” to work with (self, LEGOs, model magic, & digital drawings), and learn how animation can come to life through Stop-Motion. Students will walk away from this lesson with the tools needed to independently lead a creative project as well as how technology and attention to detail can bring even inanimate objects to life.
