Join us on Martin Luther King Jr. Day for a conversation on Thoreau, Gandhi, and King with Congressman Ro Khanna whose grandfather, Amarnath Vidyalankar, was inspired by Henry David Thoreau and was jailed as part of Gandhi’s independence movement. Congressman Khanna and Museum Director Tom Putnam will have a wide-ranging conversation on Mahatma Gandhi, Henry David Thoreau, Martin Luther King Jr., Congressman John Lewis, and the power of non-violent protests in American and world history – and in light of the recent events occurring in our nation’s capital.
