Debra Stark, founder of Debra’s Natural Gourmet in Concord, MA, knows organic. Raised by a mom who fed the family nuts and berries, grass fed meats, the best fresh and local dairy (raw milk only!), and who used natural medicine, Debra is a genuine health nut who does eat birthday cake and indulge in ice cream at the beach!
National television shows like “20/20” have featured Debra’s Natural Gourmet, rated one of the top 100 natural food stores in the country – named Retailer of the Year, Whole Foods Business, 2015; Retailer of the Year, Community Engagement, Natural Products Expo, Baltimore, 2014. Magazine called Debra’s Natural Gourmet a “home town powerhouse.” In 2016, Debra was named a legend in the natural products industry at Natural Products Expo West, where attendance was more than 60,000 people.
Debra has authored three cookbooks, the last called The Blue Ribbon Edition, from our kitchen to yours, and filmed 80 episodes of her television cooking show, Eat Well Be Happy…Eat Well Be Happy is the #1 most downloaded show in the whole USA currently airing on public access television. Debra has just published a new book, The Little Shop That Could: A Retailer’s Love Affair with Community and Food. The Little Shop is Debra’s summing up of 30 years in business. It’s about how this shop came to be: stories about characters met along the way, some favorite recipes and ruminations about salt, eggs, Tide and lessons learned about life.
