Carolyn Gold to give author talk at Concord Library

February 23, 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

- Free

Join Carolyn Gold for a discussion of her new book, When I died: Rx for Traumatic Brain Injury on Tuesday, February 23 at 7:00 p.m.

When I Died is the remarkable story of the author’s recovery of her identity after a traumatic medical event, and the struggle against all odds––brain loss, depression, family and doctor conflict, psychosis and more–– to regain her life. When author Carolyn Gold woke up in an acute rehab, she had no memory of the month in an Intensive Care Unit on complete life support, the coma or cardiac arrest that brought her to this facility. One moment she had a vibrant and active life; the next month, she could barely function. Anyone facing or fearing a severe illness or caring for someone with medical challenges will benefit from learning the breadth of recovery strategies the author employs to return to life.

Carolyn Gold, a Harvard M.Ed, founded The Gold Group, a management-consulting firm she led for over twenty years, where she consulted with Fortune 500 companies. She is also a certified executive coach and has coached many executives. For over twenty years, Carolyn has been working with Communities for Restorative Justice, actively involved in working with people who commit their first offense, developing training courses for new facilitators, and fundraising. She won their volunteer award in 2017. She is an active member and past president of Kerem Shalom in Concord, Massachusetts.
