Carlisle Old Home Day is a special time for families and friends to get together and create wonderful memories. There are a host of events for everyone to take part in. This is the time to bake, paint, sculpt, create and participate! See the list under the Events tab to get started!
This year Carlisle OHD will be held Saturday, June 23, with the Sunday Saunter the following day, June 24. The Ice Cream Social (normally held on Friday) will be held during OHD on Saturday in the FRS play yard (formerly the Red Balloon Nursery playground).
Our theme this year is “Carlisle Olympics!” Carlisle is a unique community filled with fun and creative folks, so let’s have some fun with our theme starting with the “Opening Ceremonies”, otherwise known as The Great Parade!
We have already chosen a distinguished Grand Marshal so it’s time to get started with ideas for floats and parade entries. To get your creative juices flowing, here are just a few parade entry ideas to get you started:
March of the Neighborhood Flags – Multiple neighborhoods participate or work together to create the symbols for our games. A special award to be given for the flag that best reflects the OHD theme.
Barbeque Briquette Curling teams – Demonstrate your curling skills during The Great Parade!
Synchronized Lawn Mowing Drill teams – Get your family and friends together and demonstrate your precision drill team skills in The Great Parade!
2 Person Wheelbarrow Luge – one pushing, one riding
2 Person Garden Wagon Bobsled (may be pulled by a third)
Synchronized Raking and Shoveling teams – must demonstrate precision drill team skills for the Parade judges!
Use the five Olympic rings to create our own Carlisle Olympic rings!
