Come for the CCI Annual Meeting on Thursday, May 31, at Union Hall. At 7 p.m., there will be a short meeting for CCI members and at 7:30 p.m. Marcella Pixley will talk about “Voices in the Middle: Teaching and Writing for Young Adults.” Her talk is free and open to the public.

Pixley has taught 8th Grade Language Arts at the Carlisle Public Schools for the past 15 years. She is the award-winning author of three acclaimed young adult novels: Freak (2007), Without Tess (2011) and Ready to Fall (2017). Her poetry has been published in literary journals such as Prairie Schooner, Feminist Studies, Sow’s Ear Poetry Review and Poet Lore, and she has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize.
