Author and activist Bill McKibben will speak in person in the Concord-Carlisle High School auditorim. Bill McKibben is the Schumann Distinguished Scholar at Middlebury College, is a leader of the climate campaign group 350.org, and the founder of the Third Act. He has authored a dozen books about the state of the environmental challenges facing humanity and future prospects. We think his talk will be of great interest to the community. This event is sponsored by the First Parish Concord Social Action community (Racial Justice Action Group, Immigration Justice Task Force and Environmental Teams) and the Concord public schools, and a number of other local organizations. It is a memorial lecture for Peter Nichol, a much-loved teacher and climate activist who passed away last year.
