Join us on November 15th for an Artist Demo with visual artist Cynthia Katz, who will lead a slide presentation on her work, including time to look at materials and Q & A. A trained photographer and photographic educator, her work focuses on cyanotypes, one of photography’s earliest forms, dating back to the 1840’s. Cynthia was introduced to photography and recycling by her dad in the 1960’s, and in her quest toward sustainability, she rescues materials destined for the compost pile or recycling bin in her process-oriented pieces. Katz will address how materials, gardening, mining her failures, and drinking tea all align in her current practice.
