DESCRIPTION:Join Randall Warniers for Gulliver’s Travels at 300\, a talk celebrating the 300th anniversary of the first publication of Jonathan Swift’s beloved—and brilliant—18th-century satire. \nGulliver’s Travels by Jonathan Swift is a classic satirical novel that follows fictional ship’s surgeon Lemuel Gulliver on four fantastical voyages. The book was first published in London in October 1726\, and has remained popular\, in print\, and controversial ever since. It is considered one of the truly great literary works of the 18th-century. Through Gulliver’s encounters with tiny people\, giants\, talking horses\, and flawed societies\, Swift masterfully mocks 18th-century politics\, human nature\, and the limits of human reason. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a special screening of the film Chi Mangia Solo\, by filmaker Francesco Aram Zenati\, followed by a Q&A. \n“Chi Mangia Solo” is a 2026 dramatic short film written and directed by Francesco Aram Zenati\, starring Victoria Pedretti and Philip Ettinger. The 16-minute film follows an estranged brother and sister who reconnect in their childhood home to cook their late mother’s favorite recipe the night before selling the house. Its title references the Italian proverb “Chi mangia solo\, muore solo” (“Who eats alone\, dies alone”). The film was written and filmed in Concord including at the Umbrella Arts Center.

DESCRIPTION:The League of Women Voters of Concord-Carlisle invites the community to an interactive discussion with members of the Select Board and the MCI Concord Master Plan Committee about the plans for MCI Concord and its current status. We will discuss the plans developed over the summer and the timeline for developing a zoning proposal. The forum will provide an opportunity for an open dialogue about the proposed development\, including affordable housing\, the scale and design of development\, open space\, space for Public Works\, the redesign of the Route 2 rotary\, impacts on schools and infrastructure\, and more.
