DESCRIPTION:History Without Frostbite Comes to Wright Tavern\nWinter History Talks–No Parkas Required\nConcord\, MA – This winter\, history lovers can trade icy sidewalks for a warm seat and a lively conversation as History Without Frostbite returns to the historic Wright Tavern. These engaging 90-minute indoor programs explore Concord’s past through powerful stories of courage\, leadership\, and change–no long walks or frozen toes involved.\nHeld at the iconic Wright Tavern\, where revolutionary conversations once shaped a nation\, the series invites participants to dig deeper into Concord’s Black and women’s history through expert-led presentations and discussion. This traveling indoor lecture series is also ideal for homeschool groups\, clubs\, senior activity centers\, libraries\, community organizations\, enrichment organizations and lifelong learners of all ages. Call 978-831-3061 to book.\nFebruary Programs\nBlack History of Concord\nFebruary 11 & February 26\nNoon–1:30 PM\nThis compelling presentation explores Concord’s rich and often overlooked Black history–from the realities of enslavement to the rise of self-emancipated leaders who claimed power\, agency\, and voice. Participants will meet the first generations of free Black Concordians and learn how families worked\, organized\, and fought to shape their own destinies while pushing the town–and the nation–closer to freedom and equality.\nPresented by:\n\nJen Turner\, Executive Director\, Robbins House\nRichard Piccarretto\, Historical Interpreter\n\nMarch Programs\nWomen of Concord\nMarch 11 & March 26\nNoon–1:30 PM\nLong before the term “changemaker” existed\, Concord’s women were rewriting the rules. This program highlights the women who led movements\, challenged injustice\, and helped create a distinctly American voice in literature\, art\, and reform.
