SUMMARY:FAMILY GLASS WORKSHOP: Tack Fusing\, Bouquets & Landscapes
DESCRIPTION:FAMILY GLASS WORKSHOP: Tack Fusing\, Bouquets & Landscapes\nSaturday\, May 30\, 2:00pm – 4:00pm \nIn this 2-hour workshop\, adults and children will learn the basics of glass fusing by creating one tile each (8” x 8”) that will be kiln-fired at 1400 degrees – a low temperature that allows the glass elements of your design to stay three-dimensional. To create your composition\, you will work with powders\, frit\, confetti\, copper shapes\, stringers\, and glass pieces. Landscapes and flowers are popular sources of inspiration\, but you are welcome to explore other ideas. Your instructor will fire your creation in his own kiln. The glass creations will be returned within 2 weeks\, mounted in a white shadow box or frame\, ready to be proudly displayed on a wall\, a mantel\, or a tabletop. \nCost per adult/child pair is $165.00. The workshop is open to adults and children 7 and up. Max 10 pairs of student/guardian – additional student $45 cost. No previous glass experience is necessary.

DESCRIPTION:Meet OARS at the confluence of our 3 rivers to celebrate World Fish Migration Day on May 23. We will embark on a relaxed sunset exploration of the area where our rivers meet\, enjoying time on the water and listening to the sounds of the ecosystem that supports many of the species we love\, including fish\, inspired by the book “The Sounds of Life” by Karen Bakker.\n\n\nDATE: Saturday\, May 23 \nTIME: 7 – 8:30 PM \nLOCATION: Egg Rock\, Concord\, MA 01742. A map of suggested routes and our location will be provided on our website. \nACCESS: This event involves paddling a kayak\, canoe\, or other boat\, so it is not generally accessible to those who may have limited mobility to perform this activity. There are two trails that lead out to Egg Rock by land that provide an alternative way to join the event. \n  \nThis program is offered by OARS as part of the Hidden Treasures Festival of Nature\, Culture & History\, an annual month-long celebration showcasing events and activities hosted by local partners celebrating the unique places\, objects\, and stories of the Freedom’s Way National Heritage Area. Hidden Treasures programs are free and open to the public. Click to discover more Hidden Treasures!
