SUMMARY:A Light Exists in Spring
DESCRIPTION:Concord Women’s Chorus presents its spring concert\, “A Light Exists in Spring\,” an afternoon of choral music celebrating nature\, renewal\, and the voices of women composers. The featured work is “The Tree House\,” by Beth Denisch\, Professor of Composition at Berklee College of Music.\nCommissioned by Concord Women’s Chorus in 2017 and set to poetry by Kathleen Jamie\, this work explores the intersection of nature and music. The concert also includes music by Melissa Dunphy\, Tara Traxler\, Emma Lou Diemer\, and more.\nConcord Women’s Chorus is a 45 voice ensemble that has been singing and performing in Concord for 65 years. We perform a wide range of classical and contemporary music\, with emphasis on works written for women’s voices.
