The works in this exhibition will be available for purchase via ArtCloud.com after the opening reception; for earlier inquiries\, please reach out to Julia@TheUmbrellaArts.org.\nExhibition Dates: April 29 – June 28\, 2026\nOpening Reception: April 29\, 6:00 – 8:00 PM (RSVP requested)\nForm and Narrative on Elegantly Embossed Ceramics with Juror and Visiting Artist Lisa Orr: Workshop ($70) | Artist’s Talk (Free) – RSVP requested \nJUROR: Lisa Orr has been a studio potter for over 40 years. After completing an MFA at the NYSCC Alfred in 1992\, she received a Fulbright\, an MAAA/NEA and other grants to research ceramics and create films. Her work has been placed in numerous public and private collections. Currently refining an accessible smokeless wood kiln\, she also teaches\, lectures\, and shows nationally and internationally. Orr’s ceramics lushly blend historical\, functional roots with organic\, fluid forms that embrace gentle asymmetry. SUMMARY:Thoreau's Trees Confront Climate Change: Will we still have forests in 50 years? And why we should care
DESCRIPTION:Dr. William Moomaw\, a lead author of the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize winning climate report\, will explore the role of forests and other ecosystems in moderating climate change in combination with new technologies and our behaviors. The threats to our forests from climate change and other stresses will be a major theme. The discussion will be moderatedby Delia Kaye\, Concord’s Natural Resources Director. \nWilliam Moomaw is Professor Emeritus and Founding Director of the Center for International Environment and Resource Policy at the Fletcher School at Tufts University\, and Distinguished Visiting Scientist at Woodwell Climate Research Center. He received his PhD at MIT in Physical Chemistry. As a member of the chemistry department at Williams College\, he directed the Center for Environmental Studies. He served as a Congressional Science Fellow and worked on the legislation that banned CFCs from spray cans and on the 1976 National Forest Management Act. \nProfessor Moomaw was a 5-time lead author of IPCC Reports addressing the science and technological mitigation of Climate Change.
