Saturday 10am-4:30pm Sept 24
This one-day Saturday Workshop is ideal for novice and beginning Watercolor painters. Much of the instruction and demonstrations will touch upon topics such as materials (a variety of paper, brushes, paint), composition, three basic washes (flat, graded and variegated), and “The Watercolor Clock.” Also discussed will be the importance of values, contrast and edges in paintings. Various tips, tools and textural techniques will be explored, as well as different strategies for achieving specific results. While mostly an instructional workshop (a perfect introduction to the teacher’s follow-up 6-week painting class), students are welcome to bring in their own supplies to experiment with, but it is not a prerequisite for the informational nature of the class.
