Artisans Way, located at 18 Walden St., Concord, welcomes Treestump Woodcrafts for their 7th annual Trunk Show. The event will be on Saturday, September 28 from 10-6 and Sunday, September 29 from 12-5. An expanded collection of their furniture and tabletop items will be featured at a discounted price.
“Our philosophy is to create unique objects using the natural and earthly qualities of wood and stone, and to transform these elements into elegant and functional art.” Treestump Woodcrafts master wood artisans, Christine and Ron Sisco take their philosophy seriously. Using hand and power tools they turn and build mesquite wood salad bowls, breadboards, cheeseboards, kitchen utensils and furniture. Utilizing inherent cracks and knots in the wood allows them to use interesting pieces that otherwise would never realize their full potential. They inlay turquoise or river rock in the natural voids allowing them to achieve a unique Southwestern look. For over 25 years, the Siscos have been creating functional fine art at their studio/home in Tumacacori, Arizona. All of their work is designed to withstand the rigors of everyday use.
The Siscos will be demonstrating their technique throughout the weekend and will be in-store to answer questions about their one-of-a-kind pieces. Additionally, all in-stock Treestump woodwork will be 15% off during the show.
