Your thyroid is a butterfly-shaped gland in your neck, just above your collarbone. It is one of your endocrine glands, and it creates and produces hormones that play a role in many different systems throughout your body. When your thyroid makes either too much or too little of these important hormones, it’s called a thyroid disease. Please join Geriatric Health Nurse Valerie Boggia on Thursday, January 20th at 1:00 PM for a Listen & Learn on Thyroid Disorders & Diseases. Valerie will review causes, symptoms, risk factors, how to diagnose, and treatments. Valerie will offer tips on how to prepare for your doctor’s appointment if you think that you may have a thyroid issue. Please call the COA to sign up for this in-person presentation at 978-318-3020.
