Worldwide, people are eagerly awaiting the successful development and distribution of a COVID-19 vaccine in expectation that, with a vaccine, we can back to life as we knew it. Developing a vaccine usually takes five to ten years, and costs about one billion dollars. Under the pressure of the coronavirus pandemic, scientists are being asked to speed that timeline up tp 12 to 8 months says Jerome Kim, Director General of the International Vaccine Institute. How are things going? Dr. Kim offers an update on the varied field of vaccine candidates and discusses the challenges of making sure the one vaccine that works gets distributed to the entire world. The TEDTalk will be followed by a discussion led by Tina Close, COA Activity Coordinator. Please call the COA 978-318-3020 to sign up to receive a ZOOM invitation.
