A group show celebrating contemporary atmospheric firing of New England
juried by Trevor Youngberg
Reception: Saturday January 18, 1:00-3:00PM
A Change in Atmosphere is a juried, group show representing works that have been fired with Wood, Salt, Soda, Pit, Sagger, or Raku processes. The art selected for the exhibition will embody the current trends or movements being developed in the world of clay. The goal of this exhibit is to provide a showcase of ceramics artists who utilize fire and atmosphere as a way to explore the surfaces of their work. Both sculptural and functional forms will be welcomed, as long as the main focus revolves around the firing process. This show welcomes works from all types of clays, and sizes, so long as they can be picked up and installed without the use of heavy machinery. Art in the show can be displayed on the floor, pedestals, shelves, or hung on the wall. All applicants must reside in New England to have their works considered, and if accepted, must pick up and drop of works in person.
