Artisans Way, located at 18 Walden Street in Concord, will host a reception introducing new work from local pastel artist Ann Gillespie on Saturday, November 9, 2019. The theme of her new collection, “Stay Awhile,” speaks of appreciating and spending time in nature. From 12 pm – 4 pm, Ann will be in the gallery to share her inspirations and discuss the techniques she uses to create her vibrant pastel landscapes. Light refreshments will be served at the reception and all Fine Art will be discounted 10% on November 9-10.
An award winning artist, Ann Gillespie’s motivation to capture the light, color, and uniqueness of the New England landscape that surrounds her comes from her time spent in nature. Plein Air painting celebrating nature is at the core of her artistic process. The scenes that she finds most inspiring in nature are the ones that she finds simultaneously exhilarating and peaceful.
Ann became interested in art in high school and went on to receive a BA in Studio Art from Hamilton College in upstate NY. Today, she has a successful freelance business in graphic design, continues to create beautiful pastel landscapes, and shares her knowledge and love of the medium by teaching classes at FiveSparks, in the town of Harvard. Ann is a member of The Pastel Society of New Hampshire, Central MA Pastel Society, and The Newburyport Art Association. Her work has been included in numerous exhibitions and is shown in galleries throughout New England.
