The Umbrella Community Arts Center in Concord presents the powerful exhibition by writer/photographer Joe Wallace, “Beginning at the End: Portraits of Dementia.”
The exhibit is a photographic portrait project humanizing people affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia by challenging the audience to consider the subject and their lifetime of experience even if they can no longer access or share their memories.
Wallace’s goal is to challenge perceptions about what aging with Alzheimer’s and dementia looks like. To use empathy as means for connection and understanding. To tell story after story of these amazing humans so we truly see THEM not just their diagnosis.
The exhibition, which went on May 17, has been extended by demand July 7, 2019, during gallery hours: M-F 9am-5pm and S-Su 12-4pm.
