Join COA volunteer, Sal Lopes, as he talks about his experiences with discrimination and racism throughout his life. As an immigrant child, Sal learned quickly about bias, prejudice and ethnic discrimination. As an adolescent he worked side by side on a tobacco farm with African American college students from Morehouse College. This encounter led him to make a decision to attend a Black college, serve in the Peace Corps in Liberia, West Africa and teach at an inner city high school in Washington DC. These experiences had a profound influence on Sal. Join him as he looks back on the experiences that shaped his life. Sal Lopes is a Concord resident, and
retired teacher from Lexington High School for 32 years. Please call the COA to reserve your seat at 978-318-3020.
