Mom’s WWII Letters: Reconstructing History & Genealogy

November 20, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

- Free

By happenstance last year, Corrine Smith found her mother’s stash of letters from 16 servicemen her mother had written to between 1944-45. Corrine began to trace the now-mostly-gone soldiers’ family trees with the goal of returning the letters, in person, to the soldier’s family/children. Corrine will talk about her on-going project and share stories and experiences of the men who served and what their relatives have said today. The presentation links history and genealogy to present-day research and diligence. Please join in and revisit an important time in our country’s history. Corinne’s appearance is funded by the proceeds of Harvey’s Treasure Chest Gift Shop at the Concord Council on Aging (COA). Please call the COA to sign up: 978-318-3020.
