The Garden Club of Concord invites town residents to its Annual Open Community Meeting scheduled for May 15, 2019 at 7pm at TriCon Church, 54 Walden Street.
Our guest speaker, Joan Butler, a past Chairman of the Massachusetts Landscape Design Council and an accredited Flower Show Judge, will speak about ‘Birdscaping: Home Sweet Habitat.” The program will illustrate how to create welcoming habitats for birds through thoughtful landscape choices, including native plants vital for food and nesting sites. Joan will share some of the benefits and joys of creating beautiful layered gardens designed to bring avian performers into your backyard.
Ms. Butler is an avid gardener, plant collector, birder and garden designer. She is a Horticulturalist at Weston Nurseries and a Master Gardener. Joan lectures on a variety of gardening and environmental topics. She has presented programs at the Boston and Connecticut Flower Shows, Tower Hill Botanic Garden, and other numerous garden clubs, horticultural societies, and community groups.
Please join us for this informative presentation. Refreshments will be served at the close of the meeting.
