Household Goods Inc., a volunteer-driven, nonprofit organization that provides a full range of donated furniture and household items, free of charge, to help people in need make a home, is hosting an open house for new and prospective volunteers on Wednesday, June 26, from 7-8:30 p.m. at 530 Main St. in Acton.

Volunteers are key to every aspect of the organization, from assisting clients to providing administrative help.

Perhaps you need to fulfill a community service requirement or you have some free time and want to give back to your community. Maybe you’re just looking to meet some great people who enjoy helping others.

Household Goods especially needs volunteers who can make a regular commitment, such as weekly, biweekly or even monthly. If you can lift a pencil or a sofa, Household Goods could use your help.

Please join us on the evening of June 26 at 7pm for light refreshments and to hear more about our organization and how you can help people in need. We will begin with an overview and tour of the facility, followed by an orientation at 7:45pm for those interested in signing up to volunteer.
