Sweet Autumn Farm (Carlisle, MA) is hosting The Boston School of Herbal Studies’ mushroom propagation workshop with Paul Lagreze.

Join Paul, founder of New England Wild Edibles, for some fungal fun! In this workshop you will be inoculating oak logs with shiitake spawn, waxing them and giving the mycelium time to colonize the wood to produce healthy and happy shiitake mushrooms the following summer. You will go home with the log you inoculate, find the perfect spot to place your log while the mushrooms get ready to fruit, and then harvest shiitake mushrooms two or three times a year for three or more years. There will be step by step hands on instructions to create these mushroom logs, and demonstrations of how to inoculate other types of mushrooms into wood will also be given.
