The Nature Connection, a Concord-based non-profit that delivers therapeutic nature programs to individuals in need, will offer two free Dementia Caregiver Trainings this fall: Wednesday, October 9th and Wednesday, November 13th from 3:00-5:00 pm at Youville Place (10 Pelham Road, Lexington). Trainings are free and open to professionals and family/friends who care for individuals with dementia/Alzheimer’s.
Attendees will learn to bring nature indoors for those in their care, practice interventions for all stages of dementia, and leave with tips for creating their own therapeutic activities. A recent trainee said, “I feel much more confident in my ability to engage my residents with nature. We practiced activities that I had never considered using for elderly and dementia patients.”
To register for a training program please see our website at nature-connection.org/caregiver-trainings. Please direct questions to Taylor Eagan, Program Director, teagan@nature-connection.org or 978-369-2585. This project is supported by a grant from the Dana Home Foundation.
