Films at Fowler Continues in the Summer with Summer Art House: The Lobster

June 10, 2021 @ 7:00 pm

We are continuing the Films at Fowler program in the summer months with six more movies and discussion dates. The new theme for the summer is Summer Art House, and the six movies are provocative, surprising, fun, and independent in spirit. There is even a sci-fi movie and a neglected American Western! These six movies are sleepers that don’t get as much attention as big budget features, and you will be challenged and entertained by them. Please watch—on your own time schedule—the selected movies on Kanopy, a free streaming service available to Library patrons. We will then gather on Zoom on scheduled evenings for a lively movie discussion.

The Lobster (2015)
Discussion Date: Thursday, June 10, 7:00 p.m.

In this surreal black comedy from Yorgos Lanthimos, starring Colin Farrell and Rachel Weisz, single people are given 45 days to find romantic partners. Otherwise they will be turned into an animal of their choice.

Please watch The Lobster on Kanopy before the discussion.

To register for the discussion and receive a Zoom link, send an email to randall.warniers@gmail.com.

This discussion is sponsored by the Friends of the Concord Free Public Library.
