In honor of Women’s History Month, Concord’s tourism group is running a tour each Friday in March that celebrates “Concord’s Art Legacy: Women in Art Revealed”.

You will begin your tour at 10AM at one of Concord’s hidden gems, Concord Art. Concord Art’s Executive Director Kate James will give you a private tour of the gallery, highlighting specific pieces of work from its founder, Elizabeth Wentworth Roberts. Elizabeth, an American Impressionist and philanthropist, founded Concord Art 100 years ago to promote and advance the visual arts, artists, and to sustain our cultural community. In 1923 she purchased the John Ball House in downtown Concord and named it the Concord Art Centre. This quaint house, in the middle of the historic district, has delivered inspiring works of art and classes for 100 years!

You will then head to 6 more stops on the tour: Albright Art, Three Stones Gallery, Lucy Lacoste Gallery, Concord Free Public Library, and Barrow Bookstore. “Concord’s Art Legacy: Women in Art” is the thread that will weave its’ way throughout all locations.

Looking forward to celebrating these Concord women! Here’s to the next 100 years!
