On May 24th, the CCHS baseball and softball teams are playing a memorial game in honor of Maureen Wesinger-Lewis, to raise money towards an endowed scholarship in her name at CCHS. Maureen’s daughter, Caitlyn, is a Senior Captain of the CCHS softball team and a long-time player in the CCYS/B system. Caitlyn’s dad, Bill, was active on the board of CCY Softball for years and is a retired police officer. Maureen was a Massachusetts State Police officer, an acclaimed horse trainer, and the first female Commander for the Massachusetts State Police Mounted Unit.
We hope that members of the CCYB/S community can come out in support of this event and scholarship by attending the May 24th games at the high school and/or donating to the scholarship fund. The games are scheduled to start at 4:00 pm.
The CCHS softball team will be selling T-shirts (short sleeve- $15, Long sleeve $20) and bracelets ($5.00) to raise money for the scholarship in advance and on the day of the event. They will also have a concession stand at the games with burgers, hotdogs, and baked goods.
