Outdoor Weekend Workshop
Narrative Mending with Karen Stevens
All Levels
Medium: Fiber/Cloth
Friday + Saturday
July 16 + 17, 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Using our most loved and worn garments as a canvas, we will explore new ways to continue the story of cloth through mending. Over time our clothing takes on its own narrative, through the repetitive wear of daily tasks, or a sudden unexpected tear. Rather than replacing it with something new, an opportunity opens up to deepen the narrative, so our garments become a visual journal of our lives. A simple running stitch, some colored foss, and scraps of fabric add a new dimension to a layered story – your story.
