Professor Kerry Emanuel has focused his research on hurricane physics and was the first to investigate how long-term climate change might affect hurricane activity. He is co-director of MIT’s Lorenz Center, a climate think tank devoted to basic, curiosity-driven climate research. He is the author of three books including What We Know About Climate Change, published by MIT Press and is now entering its third edition.
