Bicentenary Celebration of the Birth of the Bab

October 28, 2019 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

- Free

October 28th marks the 200th anniversary of the Birth of the Bab, the forerunner of Baha’u’llah, founder of the Baha’i Faith. Born in what is now Iran 200 years ago, The Bab announced the coming of Baha’u’llah and challenged the society of the time. Indeed, The Bab introduced radical social laws, such as the equality of women and men, and inspired an artistic reawakening. Many poets, artists and philosophers of the time were fascinated by The Bab due to this innate knowledge and kind nature. The Baha’i Community of Concord is currently comprised of about 60 individuals, who strive every day to put into practice the Baha’i teachings of the oneness of humanity, the equality of all people, and a personal and collective responsibility to contribute to the betterment of society. A celebration will be held at The Concord Museum on Monday, October 28th at 7pm where we will enjoy poetry, brief presentations on spiritual and artistic inspiration, and refreshments. All are welcome, please join us!
