A storywalk is a book you read while taking a walk. Thanks to the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail Advisory Committee and the Town of Concord, there will be a storywalk available for families to read while walking the rail trail between West Concord and the Concord Rotary from August 14 to 26. The parking lot for the rail trail is located on Beharrell Street off Commonwealth Avenue. “Ruby’s School Walk” by Kathryn White, is the story of a little girl’s walk to school with her mother, and all the wild thoughts that her imagination comes up with during their journey. This reassuring story helps give kids a way to process the return to school that will be happening soon. This activity was coordinated by First Connections, a Mass. Dept. of Early Education CFCE program serving all families with children 0-8 in eleven communities, www.firstconnections.org.
