Our subjects are live models. Using both drawing and painting media we’ll practice different approaches which focus your attention on simplifying the figure in space. Relying on observation, we’ll explore ways to establish correct proportions and create strong compositions. Emphasis is on the difference between everyday seeing and seeing for the world of two dimensional relationships, relative angles and dimensions, shapes, values, and colors. Every level of experience is welcome and we will be painting rather quickly to encourage a focus on getting the big things established up front.
