The emergence of African American artists over three centuries has been a powerful reflection of social and political changes. From the early Republic to the Civil War, through the rise of industry, the Jazz Age and the Harlem Renaissance, the post-war years and the Civil Rights movement to present day. This fascinating subject will be facilitated by Janice and Doug using DVD lectures. Special guest on February 4 will be Laura McDonald from the Tufts University Art Gallery. This series is free of charge at the Concord Council on Aging and we appreciate you letting us know you are coming: 978-318-3020. If you miss a date you can easily slip back in so don’t hesitate to return. This weekly series ends March 31.
